Simon and Neil, thanks for the excellent review of Cobra's new 3D printed irons. In listening to your presentation I found myself wondering what Cobra's strategy is for these irons and why they only produced 500 sets. Are they waiting to see if there's sufficient demand at the $3K price point before scaling up production? Do 3D irons take considerably more time to manufacture? Are there more or less quality control issues w/ 3D? And where does Cobra see the 3D irons fitting in their existing lineup (between Forged Tec X and Forged Tec)? Sorry for all the questions -- I'm just really curious what the long term plan is. I'm guessing we'll see other manufacturers coming out w/ their own 3D irons fairly soon -- and at much lower price points. Thanks again for the great content.

I have Had all the other brands this year April I brought a new set and had a fitting for PXG and have been amazed, my game has improved and my driver is have never hit so far. Wonderful clubs with the black ops edition 😅

Echoing what others have said: pointless vid without giving us results

Ive been playing PXG for 3 years and have had 0211, gen 4 and gen 5 drivers...the black ops blows them all away. Most forgiving, best sounding and feeling of any driver I''ve ever owned and I played Titleist most of my adult life as well. I'm an 11 handicap with a ss of around 88 to 92 mph reg flex evenflow 50 gram shaft. Consistently seeing 220 on easy swings up to 250 on faster cuts with it. I tried eveyr driver in this test and the black ops is simply better in every category at least for me as a mid handicap. If this driver was in golf shops instead of online it would be making the other big OEM brands super nervous in my opinion. Try it if you can find a fitter. The black ops is on another level compared to any other driver PXG has made or any other manufacturer for that matter.

As it becomes more mass-market prices will obviously come down. There’s no doubt this is a big moment in terms of technological advancement in irons (as was Bryson putting 3D printed irons in the bag for the US PGA). What is really exciting is the prospect of irons that are customised with specific weight distribution for people who slice, hook, have too steep an attack angle etc. And they will be able to work out algorithms for what amount of tungsten needs to goes where in the club for this. That will cost big bucks, but we’re talking genuine bespoke irons!! The next 5 years is going to be fun to see where this goes.

Can see this really kicking off manufacturers are running out of new feature to market this would give them years on year in year out innovation selling you the latest and greatest new tech.

Innovation will undoubtedly take over at some point but forged irons are the now…. I would be curious to see how good these bad boys perform though!

One heck of a review and what a treat for data/fitting geeks - only 220K views clearly shows most golfers overlook this aspect? My max swing speed now down to 94mph so will definitely be looking into "soft" balls.

The XJ1 3 wood is the best 3 wood ever made and the longest. Awesome driver but i believe when it came out in 2017 it cost around $700.00 which was way more than the golfing public was use too seeing or could afford. Funny 7 years later all the new drivers are close to costing that much money.

Surprised the Takomo 101 irons didn’t receive a fair share of plaudits. The shot area, which I believe to be a major quality, it came 1st and distance drop off was near the top.

Good stuff Guys. Thanks. I want to like the cbx but it came off the face so hot and the rollout for me chipping and pitching green side with a prov1 was tremendous. Not sure why. I believe the high bounce they offer was too high for my sweeping swing on the firm turf i am on too. I have a glide 4.0 that bites and holds. Are the glides and s159 considered cavity backs? I am going to look into those mizuno wedges because i am trying to find a cavity back with low bounce. Any suggestions?

There are 2 reasons you miss putts. First is when your putt doesn't go where you were aiming. And second, you didn't aim at the right spot. I'd venture to say that the vast majority of missed putts begin with the latter, making the former fairly irrelevant, meaning even if you got a putter that helps you hit the ball where you aim it much more consistently, it won't really translate into strokes, because all it did is help you hit a more perfect shot in the wrong direction. Now, once you get very good at reading greens, THEN the better putter will make more of a difference. But that isn't most golfers. Certainly investing in a quality putter even as a beginner is a good idea. However, just understand that you may not realize its potential for a while. Who here has said "I just spent $200 on 'the' putter, and I am still 3 putting"? Manage your expectations.

I have a question for you guys. I play with lots of hybrids. I have a Ping G 425 # 2 hybrid that I hit further than the others. I am wondering if anyone makes a # 1 hybrid? I'm not seeing that they do. I suppose I could buy another # 2 adjustable hybrid and lower the loft by 1.5 degrees. The # 2 hybrid has become a tremendous weapon in the bag. I can't help but wonder what I could accomplish with a # 1 hybrid. Thanks, Joe

Great review guys as always. I’m a senior 15/17 handicapper with a 74 mph swing speed (7 iron) and nearly always recommended game improvement iron in fittings which is fine but would love a players distance iron but in many tests distance is lost. In your ratings I was surprised to see the Wilson Dynapwr forged as not one of the easiest as it looks quite big and friendly. So far my favourite iron tested is T350 but tried the new i530 which shocked me as it was as easy as the T350 so would value your opinion on easiest most forgiving distance iron. Many thanks and again thank you for another great review.

I’ve been using the maxfli Tour recently. Best ball I’ve used for the price. Feels just as great as a ProV1 to me.

Great discussion, thank you! I have a stealth 2 HD 3 hybrid in the bag and it replaced my ~205 yard iron. I am really debating the replacement of my 195/190 iron with a hybrid. I just find them easier to hit and I really like the decent angle. Just trying to decide which hybrid to get, For sure the 23 degree is to close to the 3h at 20 degree. So 27 or 31, I am leaning towards the 27.

Quick question, I’m looking to change grips on my phantom X5 Scotty Cameron, how thin of a grip can I put? Can I go all the way down to a pp58? Or would it be too thin? Thank you
